• Generate optional AI captions when you explicitly request that feature;

Temporary Processing & Caching

When you submit a link, ReelHox processes it temporarily to fetch metadata and download addresses from third-party sources and platform CDNs.

To improve speed and reduce load, we may cache analysis results for a limited time (for example, TikTok results may be cached for up to one hour). Cached data includes metadata and download URLs: not your identity.

Cached entries expire automatically and are not intended for long-term storage.

We do not build a permanent library or archive of user-submitted links or downloaded content.

Proxy Downloads & Signed Tokens

ReelHox may provide downloads through a secure proxy using short-lived signed tokens. These tokens authorize access to a specific media resource for a limited period.

Tokens are stored temporarily in our cache infrastructure and are not linked to a user account.

When you download a file, the media stream may pass through our servers to apply required headers or refresh expired CDN links.

Third-Party Services

ReelHox relies on third-party services to operate. These providers process data only as needed to perform their function:

• Platform CDNs and source websites (TikTok, Instagram, and related content delivery networks);
• Media extraction providers and tools (including TikWM API and yt-dlp, where applicable);
• Infrastructure providers (hosting, Redis/cache, queue, and rate-limit services such as Upstash);
• Google Gemini (optional: only if you use AI caption generation, limited to title and platform context).

Rate Limiting & Server Logs

We apply IP-based rate limits (currently 20 analyze requests per minute per IP) to protect the service from abuse.

Standard server logs may record your IP address, request time, URL path, HTTP method, status code, and user-agent string.

Logs are used for security monitoring, debugging, and abuse prevention. They are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

ReelHox may use essential cookies or local storage required for basic site functionality, language preference, or security.

We do not use cookies to track you across unrelated websites.

If advertising or analytics tools are added in the future, this policy will be updated and, where required by law, consent mechanisms will be provided.

AI Caption Feature (Optional)

If you choose to use ReelHox AI caption generation, we send limited context (such as the video title and platform name) to Google Gemini to generate suggested social media captions. We do not send your IP address to Gemini as part of that feature. Use of this optional feature is subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy policy.

Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary to provide the service and for the purposes described in this policy:

• Submitted URLs and analysis results: cached temporarily, then automatically expired;
• Signed download tokens: short-lived, typically minutes to hours;
• Server logs: retained for a limited operational period, then rotated or deleted;
• AI caption requests: processed in real time and not stored as a user profile.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by ReelHox, including HTTPS encryption, signed download tokens, rate limiting, and access controls on infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

ReelHox is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International Users
